On page 148 in the Student Activity Book complete the story problems. Follow these steps to help solve:
Read the problem all the way through 3 times
Underline the numbers in the problem
Decide if it is an adding on or take away problem.
Write an Equation
Show your work! (Use circles/ten sticks, draw a picture, solve the equation)
Your child might need help reading some of the words in the story problem. Make sure to label the answer with the correct label! Don’t be fooled by the pictures on the side. They might not be the correct label.

Writing, help your child write a short opinion paragraph. Have them choose their favorite candy and explain why they think that one is the best.
Example;
I think Skittles candy is the best. I like Skittles because they come in a rainbow of different colors. Skittles are fruit flavored and sweet. I like how Skittles are chewy. You should try Skittles they are the best candy.
