Biographies

Jennifer Leeper - President

Jennifer has been with the Mesa Water Polo team since its first day in 2012. She has enjoyed watching her sons and husband play water polo. Jennifer has been a team mom both on and off the deck. She became interested in a more active role and began running the shot clocks and training others. She also serves as the Club Administrator.

In her professional career, Jennifer has been the Executive Director and served on several boards for the State of Arizona. Currently, she is a Senior IT Project Manager managing enterprise cyber-security initiatives. Jennifer loves to bring people together to work on common goals. She plans to use her professional skills and love of people to ensure that Mesa Water Polo continues to grow and thrive.

Paul Soucek - Vice President

Paul has been a business owner in the East Valley for 20+ years, served on several boards, and managed both operations and sales teams effectively. His son, Nate, has been a member of MWP for 4 years and believes his teammates are like family.

Paul will use his professional and personal skills to effectively and efficiently help the Board of MWP during this time of transition, and further the growth and maturity of the club to help more kids discover a love for water polo in the Valley.

Emily Truitt - Treasurer

Emily has been with the Mesa Water Polo team since August of 2017. She has loved seeing her son develop a passion for the sport as he learns more about it and makes great friends on the team. Emily continues to learn about water polo as she trains to help run shot clocks and keep score during games.

In her profession as a teacher, Emily teaches Latin and Spanish at the junior high and high school levels, develops and manages district-wide curricula, and is a Languages Department Chairperson. She has established and managed the annual budgets for both her school department and a local Cub Scout Pack for several years. Emily is excited to be part of the Mesa Water Polo team as it continues to grow.

Carolyn Bigley - Member At Large (1)

I am a native to Arizona and have lived the last several years in the east valley. I attended Arizona State University where I received my Bachelors in Business and the University of Phoenix to obtain my Masters in Organizational Management. My daughter, Kaley, has been part of the Mesa Water Polo team since late 2016. She loves the sport and seeks new and exciting opportunities to play this sport whenever she gets the opportunity. I have worked in the human resources field globally for the past 19 years with my most recent position as part of the Banner Health Team (non-profit organization). I currently lead the human resources team for one of their facilities. I enjoy the human resources field because of the strategic focus on business, the ability to lead strong outcomes, the pleasure of leading executives and ensuring we explore the best paths possible for the goals we are looking to achieve. As an HR Professional, I strive to lead by example and assume everyone leads with positive intent. I keep my commitments, meet deadlines and hold myself to a high level of accountability and overall expectations. I enjoy participating and organizing charitable events, such as the Susan G Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walks, March of Dimes walks, Juvenile Diabetes walks, etc. I am looking for an opportunity to give back to our community.
