Trichomoniasis is a parasite that is sexually transmitted. It is very common and about 70% of people who are infected do not have symptoms.
When symptoms do occur, it can cause:
- redness and swelling of the genitals
- smelly discharge from the vagina
- painful sex
- pain when you pee
Trichomoniasis is treated with antibiotics. Both partners must be treated. An examination is needed to be tested for this infection.
