Do you know you want to participate and you want to get first dibs on a certain theme? Sign up now for a table! Check out some photos of past Halloween Extravaganzas--join us for the fun again this year!
You're invited to join us for the 11th annual Red Mountain Halloween Extravaganza!
Please save the date for 10/31/24 from 5:30-8:30 pm.
This is a community trick-or-treat event that happens on Halloween night, and it is a chance for the families in our community to have a safe, fun place for their kids to trick-or-treat...and it provides us a great opportunity to open up our beautiful campus to our neighbors.
Here's what we will need from our community to help make the event another smashing success:
Candy donations: This event relies very heavily on candy donations from our campus community, both Red Mountain and Southern/Dobson. Donations can be delivered to the Student Life office at either campus, or the Instructional Suport offices at Red Mountain. Receipt of donation will be provided for those receiving extra credit. *No gum accepted.
Themed Trick-or-Treat booths: We will be looking for 25-30 different groups (student groups, departments, clubs, etc) who are willing to organize and staff a themed booth. Those running the booth will be responsible for coming up with a theme, decorations, costumes, and an activity that kids can do at their table. There have been so many creative booths over the years, and we can't wait to see what our campus community and our students come up with this time!
Volunteers: An event like this doesn't happen without our entire campus community coming together to help.
Psi Beta and the Psychological Science Department will be hosting a lecture as part of their Evening Lectures in Psychology series.
On Tuesday, September 24, professional counselor, Mark Loeser, will be presenting a lecture about intimate relationships and skills to develop a loving and lasting relationship.
Please contact Mia Palmer with any questions or requests for interpreters.
Join MCC's Social Science Department for an informative one-hour presentation highlighting the profound contributions of Hispanics in education, politics, and culture. In the Southwest and states such as Arizona, Hispanics represent a vital and increasingly influential demographic. This is an approved Honors Curricular event. Free gift card drawings! Contact the Social Sciences Department at 480-461-7060 for more info.
Please join us for the first Male Empowerment Network workshop! This workshop will be a space for Men of Color to build community and explore where we learn what it means to be a 'man' and how that shapes who we are in educational spaces. We will reflect on our values as Men of Color and discuss how we can use our personal gifts and talents to navigate the challenges of Higher Education. All students and employees are welcome to attend.

More info on Orange Shirt Day:
Orange Shirt Day began in Canada and is now recognized across many countries. It symbolizes the story of Phyllis Webstad, a young girl who had her orange shirt taken from her on her first day at a residential school. The day has since become a powerful symbol of the harm done by these schools, as well as a reminder of the importance of acknowledging and addressing the generational trauma caused. Its also a day to honor the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples as they move forward in healing.
Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in an event that reflects the healing and enduring strength of Indigenous communities. Lets come together to commemorate this important day of reconciliation and remembrance.
