Homework Policy

Please keep in mind that this is a general outline of homework. Homework will be given Monday-Thursday. Homework is given to reinforce skills that have been taught in class. Homework assignments are posted daily in class. It is the responsibility of each child to copy homework completely and accurately in the homework log/student planner. Therefore, please refer to your child's homework planner for specific information. The homework planner is also a communication tool between home and school, so feel free to write me any notes. All homework assignments and handouts are sent home daily and are the responsibility of the student. Handouts are NOT available online. However, on occasion, assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.

As per Dr. Marciante, children are expected to read "just right" books and log their reading at least five days a week for 30 minutes or more! Monday-Thursday reading MUST be done. For the fifth day, students can choose to read either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. In addition they are expected to share their thinking about their reading following the directions in the packet given out each Monday. All reading logs should be SIGNED by a parent and handed in on Monday. If a log is not signed it is considered a missed assignment.

When a student misses an assignment, they will receive a missing assignment slip. After 4 missed assignments are accumulated in any one subject area, the student will receive a lunch detention. At the end of each trimester the assignments will be wiped clean.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in your child's education!
