Tonight we will bring you a narrated livestream from our telescope in the Merrimack Mendel Observatory! We will be viewing the Moon, the Planets, and other cosmic sights.

Tonight's exploration will be led by:

Christopher Duston, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Physics

School of Science & Engineering

Merrimack College

Professor Duston is a faculty member in the physics department, and is the director of the Mendel Observatory. His research interests include Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, as well as the lifecycle and evolution of stars. He works with undergraduate students to perform observations of supernovae, variable stars, active galaxies, and asteroids.

Noor Shams

Senior, STEM Education

School of Education & Social Policy

Merrimack College

Noor Shams is a senior majoring in STEM Ed. with minors in physics, mathematics, and biology. Her interests include organizing Math Club, helping run the Mendel Observatory, and conducting astrophysics research using both on-site and remote telescopes. Her current research interests pertain to analyzing and interpreting photometric data specifically in regards to NEOs such as asteroids.
