Welcome to Squad B!

Hello, learners/family! I am excited to serve as your coach during the Foundations and Immersion phases of your Merit America program. I will be helping you prepare for this transition into a new IT career in hopes that it will change your life and impact your family's future. I'm so glad you're here and it's an honor to be with you on this journey.

I know firsthand limiting beliefs that can hold us back when making a career change, so I hope you will be open to developing personally as a result of all that you will be learning through the technical and professional coursework. I believe that in these 14 short weeks (buckle up, they will fly by!) you will gain confidence that will show through in your future interviews even without technical experience beyond the program (see Dear Learner to hear what my former learners had to say).

While we'll be working together the most and get to know each other well, I want you to know that many Merit America staff members are working in the background to support you even if you don't realize it. I hope you'll have the chance to meet some of them throughout the program, especially our Job Success Specialists who will be working with you in the final phase of the program. Until then, I hope I can create a safe space for you to be curious and for us all to learn from one another. If you have not done so already, please complete my Getting to Know You survey by this Monday, July 18th at noon!
