Mr. Kidwell

This will be my 4th year at Hoover. I started my official teaching career here as a clinician. I loved it so much that I transitioned to be an 8th grade core teacher.

All of the students in my experience are capable of much more than they may think. In my class I aim to have them explore their own limits and expand critical skills needed for success in school and in life.

Writing skills are foundational for almost every other thing the student will do in life. We'll focus on dissecting both English and Social Studies through writing skills. Furthermore, writing is the most "human" thing we can do. Giving my students a voice to communicate their experience is a major priority.

8th grade is a serious transition year. Another goal for this class will be teaching how to create their own note-taking scheme as well as how to study. They'll need to awaken these skills before they move on to high school.

This year will be unforgettable for many reasons, but mostly for all the discoveries your student's will teach me.
