Evans ranch elementary school Counseling program

Hi Students and Families! Welcome to Ms. Files' counseling page!

This is my third year as the school counselor at Evans Ranch Elementary. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a B.A. in Applied Psychology and a M.A. in Educational and Clinical Counseling with a PPS Credential. I am also working towards becoming an LPCC (licensed therapist).

I am passionate about public education and love working with students to help them become more self aware, build self-advocacy skills, develop healthy coping strategies for the difficult adversities that come their way, and model how being kind and helpful human beings brings light into our world.

I am married with two children, as well as two corgis and two guinea pigs.

Do not hesitate to reach out to me. I have provided many resources on this site, but will do my best to help you and your child have a successful and supported school year!

My role as an elementary school counselor plays a crucial part in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of my students. I work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive school environment. I provide individual and group counseling to address students' personal and emotional needs, teach essential life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and empathy, and offers guidance on decision-making and problem-solving. Additionally, I assist in identifying and addressing learning challenges, facilitate supports for students facing difficulties, and promote a safe and nurturing atmosphere that fosters your children's overall well-being and success in their educational journey. Let me know how I can help!
