Mena High School Homecoming Celebration!
Homecoming 2021 includes a combination of new & traditional events focused on creating an atmosphere of unity, pride and school spirit in being a Mena Bearcat! We hope to see you at all of these events. This page includes important dates & information on all of the events of Homecoming 2021!
Monday
Wear your favorite holiday outfit from any holiday season!
Every student who dresses up earns points for the Spirit Barrel
Students will have an opportunity to bring in Pennies as well as quarters, nickels and dimes Monday through Thursday.
Collection point will be in front of the office door.
The Winning class (Freshman, Sophomore Junior, Senior) will earn 50 points for the spirit barrel.
Pennies = points | Quarters, Dimes and Nickels = negative points
All money raised will be donated to Relay for Life
All students will have the opportunity to vote for who they wish to be Queen.
Voting opens at the beginning of enrichment & closes at the end of enrichment.
Tuesday
Wear your best disco outfit!
Every student who dresses up earns points for the Spirit Barrel
Students will have an opportunity to bring in Pennies as well as quarters, nickels and dimes Monday through Thursday.
Collection point will be in front of the office door.
The Winning class (Freshman, Sophomore Junior, Senior) will earn 50 points for the spirit barrel.

Suzy Q's is hosting an Ice Cream Social sponsored by The Tire Shop in Mena!
All Mena High School students are welcome to attend!

Meet at the Crossing Church at 4:30
Begin lining up at 5:00
Parade begins at 5:30
Parade runs from the courthouse down Mena Street to Dallas Avenue to the Football Field. Parade ends in the football field parking lot where the Powederpuff Football game.
Admission is $2.00
Gates will open at the conclusion of the parade, approximately 6:00.

Championship Game to conclude the event
Thursday
Doors open at 4pm, Varsity starts at approximately 6pm
Each student, in grades 9-12, earns a spirit barrel point for their attendance
First 50 in the door get in free, sponsored by Arvest bank!
Prizes for best Fashion Week outfit in the Student Section will be awarded by BFI
Come cheer the Ladycats to a win over Fountain Lake

Dress in your best "blingy" white outfit with your homecoming shirt!
Every student who dresses up earns points for the Spirit Barrel
Pep Rally begins at 9:00am in the gym
Presentation of Court
Each class will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of games at the pep rally.
The winners earn 4 points, 2nd place earns 3 points, 3rd place earns 2 points and 4th place earns 1 point.
These points go towards the overall points for the spirit barrel.
Winner of Spirit Barrel announced
Presentation of Court begins at 6:30pm
Queen is crowned at the conclusion of the ceremony
Bearcat Football kickoff at 7pm
White Out/Bling Out is the spirit section theme
Prizes will be given for the best costume, sponsored by BFI
Come out & cheer the Bearcats to a victory over the Waldron Bulldogs
Starts approximately 9:30 (after the conclusion of the football game)
First annual dodgeball tournament.
$25 entry fee per team
Must enter by Thursday, September 23rd
All money raised will go for Relay for Life
Saturday
DETAILS
Dance starts at 8:00pm on the cafeteria patio (barring weather)
Dance concludes at 11:00pm
Make sure parents are lining up to pick up at 11:00pm
Dance is closed to current MHS students, grades 9-12.
Attire is Semi-Formal, see information here.
TICKETS
We will not be selling tickets at the door.
Tickets go on sale with Mrs. Ashcraft on Tuesday, September 1st and will conclude Thursday, September 23rd.
Tickets can also be purchase online at MyPaymentsPlus.com
Tickets will be via list.
Concessions will be open at the dance.
NIGHT OF THE DANCE
ID will be checked, along with purses and bags, in the foyer of the cafeteria.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., although the dance does not start until 8:00 p.m.

PENNY WARS
Students will have an opportunity to bring in Pennies as well as quarters, nickels and dimes Monday through Thursday during lunches.
The class (Freshman, Sophomore Junior, Senior) will earn points towards the spirit barrel.
The class with the most pennies earns 25 points, 2nd place earns 20 points, 3rd place earns 10 points, 4th place earns 5 points
Pennies = points | Quarters, Dimes and Nickels = negative points
POWDERPUFF
Points will be rewarded based on who wins
1st place: 5 points, 2nd place: 3 points, 3rd place: 2 points, 4th place: 1 point
SPIRIT DAYS
Dress up to show your spirit and earn points toward the spirit barrel.
Every person who dresses up earns points for their class toward the spirit barrel.
Points will be calculated based on the percentage of class participation.
HOMECOMING DOORS
Every door decorated earns 5 points for the spirit barrel for your class.
Winners earn additional points: 1st place wins 25 points, 2nd place wins 20 points, and 3rd place wins 15 points.
VOLLEYBALL GAME
Every person who attends will earn points for their class toward the spirit barrel.
Points will be calculated based on the percentage of class participation.
SPIRIT STICK
During the pep rally, a spirit stick will be given to the class with the most spirited participation.
Class who wins earns 5 extra points!
GAMES AT THE PEP RALLY (no games this year due to Covid)
Each class will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of games at the pep assembly.
The winners earn 20 points, 2nd place earns 15 points, 3rd place earns 10 points and 4th place earns 5 points.
These points go towards the overall points for the spirit barrel.
SPIRIT BARREL PRESENTATION
Spirit barrel will be presented to the WINNING class toward the end of the pep rally.
There will be other opportunities to earn points for the spirit barrel throughout the week. The best way to make sure your class wins is to PARTICIPATE and have a GREAT time during Homecoming week!
