About Melissa Chaile (Melissa Sweets)
Melissa's career began as a bilingual producer and host for NYC's top radio show, El Vacilon Show on La Mega 97.9 FM. She has collaborated with prominent NYC personalities such as Cherry Martinez and Em EZ on Power 105.1, and Angie Martinez and DJ Enuff from Hot 97. As a personality/producer for online radio stations like Urban Latino Media, A-List Radio, and Sirius XM's Shade45, she founded the first-ever all-female entertainment news blog, The Sorority of Hip-Hop, empowering women to create their own media content.
Her transition into digital marketing from building her own entertainment music blog saw her leading campaigns for major brands and artists. At Viper Records and Roc Nation, Melissa directed strategic marketing initiatives for the underground rap market and the Urban Latin market, working with artists like Cormega, Immortal Technique, Tainy, Mozart La Para, and Victoria La Mala.
Melissa's experience extends to event production, brand strategy, influencer marketing, managing paid ad campaigns, community and social media management, with roles at AXA Financial, Leica Camera, BuyDig.com, LG, and TIDAL. Her skills in ad campaign planning, budget management, and performance analysis have consistently driven traffic and maximized ROI.
From 2020 to 2022, Melissa led strategies for Adonde Media, handling podcast marketing projects for clients like Duolingo, Ted, and Spotify. She also managed Podcasteros.com, a Spanish-language community of podcasters. As Head of Marketing for Viper Records, she consulted on a rebrand and helped sign new talent.
In 2022, Melissa joined Warner Music Latin as Senior Label Manager, working with bilingual artists such as Kidd Keo, Tiago PZK, and IZaak. She also consulted for clients such as Zion & Lennox, as well as Pitbull's label, Mr. 305 Records.
Most recently, Melissa has led the BMG LatAm team as Director of Marketing, managing promotional releases and publicity strategies for artists like Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Duran Duran, Rita Ora, and Big Time Rush in the Latin American territories.
