Usernames, Passwords & Email

Student usernames to login to the school computer and/or the Google Drive are typically their first initial followed by their last name. For example, Jon Doe would be: jdoe

However, there are a few circumstances where a student username is different. If there are multiple students with the same first initial and last name (Jon Doe and Jane Doe would both be: jdoe) then a number is assigned to the students. Jon Doe would be: jdoe and Jane Doe would become: jdoe1

Another instance where a username is different is if the student is a Jr. or the thrid (III). In that case the student username will be: jdoejr or jdoeiii

If additional help is needed with usernames please take the following steps:

• Students in grades 3-6 please contact Mrs. Phillips, the librarian, at kphillips@medinacsd.org she will be able to assist you with both your username and password.

• If you are unable to reach the teacher listed above, please contact the school Technology Department and they can assist you. The number to reach them is 585-798-2100

Students are allowed to create their own passwords for their computer login. This password is then automatically their Google Drive password as well. Due to the NYS Education Law, student passwords must have the following:

• A minimum of 10 characters

• Upper and a lowercase letters

• A number

• A symbol (!@#$%^&*_+~?<>{})

If the student password has been forgotten, please take the following steps to reset it:

All student and teacher email addresses start with their username followed by: @medinacsd.org

For example student Jon Doe would be jdoe@medinacsd.org

Student email accounts generally do not allow them to send or receive emails that come from outside email accounts. Students can only send and receive emails to/from other Medina students, teachers, administrators, etc. that also have an @medinacsd.org email account.
