AP English Language and Composition is a course that focuses upon crafting strong, logical arguments. To understand what we should do to create strong arguments, it’s helpful to begin by thinking about what we shouldn’t do when we’re trying to write arguments.

This assignment asks you to study twelve common logical fallacies. A “fallacy” is a mistake, so a “logical fallacy” is logic that is flawed or mistaken in some way.

To make studying the logical fallacies easier and less overwhelming, I’ve broken up the fallacies you need to know into two groups. I suggest taking notes or making flashcards to help yourself master the content. If at first you do not understand a certain logical fallacy, feel free to conduct your own independent research!
