The argument essay requires you to take a position on a topic provided in the prompt. Unlike the synthesis essay, the evidence you use to support your position in this essay will come entirely from your own knowledge.
WHAT EVIDENCE CAN I USE?
Literally anything! If it helps you develop a central claim and build an effective line of reasoning, use it! With that said, you should always do your best to use evidence that shows creative thinking and demonstrates an expansive knowledge base. Although this is not by any means a rule you need to follow, it's often helpful to begin with the goal of including one historical example, one example from current events, and one personal example.
