Hi Kindergarten Families!
It was so nice seeing many families at Community Spirit Night and at tonight's dine-to-donate event at Culver's! Below is some information for you to read concerning things in our classroom that have popped up:
Toys: Please have your child keep all of their toys at home. They tend to find their way into backpacks when grownups aren't looking.
Take-Home Papers: Our ELA curriculum (CKLA) has lots of family papers that come home. This is not homework, but rather optional practice pages for your child to do if you wish. They are to stay at home. Thanks!
Library Books: The students and I talked about being responsible for library books, and a part of that was the directive to keep library books in their backpacks unless they are actively using them. This helps students be ready to check out a new book each time they have Library Encore. Kids that wish to keep the same book should bring the book back so it can be renewed.
Getting Ready for Colder Months: The season will change soon, so please take the time now to have your child practice putting on their coat with long sleeves on, fixing inside-out coat/hoodie sleeves, starting zippers and zipping them, putting on scarves/mittens/gloves/hats, taking off and putting on boots, and taking off and putting on shoes. All of these skills should be done independently. Thank you for your help with this!
School Picture Info: School Picture Day is Tuesday, September 23rd. Flyers will be in take-home folders tomorrow.
PJ Day: Tomorrow is PJ Day. Please make sure your child's pajamas are appropriate for school activities. Stuffed animals and slippers are to stay home. Thanks!
Conference Sign-Up: Please click here to sign up for a virtual family-teacher fall conference if you haven't done so.
Thanks for reading!
