How does Instagram promote and effect the fashion industry, and persuade consumers to buy certain brands and products?

Brands Using Instagram as a Business: Instagram is used for the promotion of fashion brands. Instagram isn't used just as a place to share photos with freinds, it is a business for some people.
Our Creative Brief:
1. What is this project? What form will it take? What’s the task at hand?
This project is a way for us to connect fashion and public relations to digital writing rhetoric. Our plan is to create an instagram page promoting and advertising brands and products we wear/use. We want to use our instagram page to reach students at URI interested in fashion or majoring in PR or TMD.
2. Why are we doing it? What is the problem or opportunity?
We are doing this project to connect our majors to writing rhetoric. The opportunity is seeing how the fashion industry uses public relations through instagram or other digital platforms. We want to show instagram is used in the promotion of fashion brands. And how instagram isn't used just to share photos with freinds, it is a business for some people.
3. Who is it really for? And why should they care?
This is for URI students looking for fashionable or high end products for cheaper prices, as we are both college students who do not like to nor have large amounts of money to spend on clothing or other products. This will help students save money.
4. Where and how will it be used? When?
It will be used through instagram and social media by us making daily posts.
5. Who will become engaged with it directly and indirectly?
Us and the people following the account will be directly engaged by looking and reacting to our posts. The brands we are tagging will be indirectly engaged, as well as any hashtags used on the posts.
6. How will it be remembered and retold?
At any point in time the instagram account will be able to be looked up and found.
7. What needs to be done? By whom? By when?
We need to create an instagram account by next class so we can get started with our posts.
British_columbias_finest is an accessories brand that carries all kinds of jewelry and sunglasses. They expand their business on Instagram by reaching out to blogs, such as ours, to find people to promote their brand.
ChicNYC is a New York based brand that sells that has brand reps (alineatchicnyc) that reach out to blogs like ours to find influencers to promote their brand on their own instagram pages, to help promote their items.
Mikaella_shades is another sunglasses brand that wanted us to promote their products. All of the brands commenting on our photos use Instagram as a business simplying by reaching out to fashion blogger. Even on a wider scale, there are fashion bloggers that actually make ALOT of money by promoting brands.

A written response, a speech, or an online posting
It is said that “the ability to observe in any given situation the available means of persuasion.” The rhetorical choice can be chosen based on whichever one will persuade readers.
Things such as constructive criticism are the most respectful when collaborating because you are not dissing anyone’s ideas, just trying to make them better.
The writer should present the texts in whichever way speaks the most to the audience. It really depends on the audience.
A text is an actual instance or piece of communication. An author is the person communicating. An audience is the recipients of the communication. Purposes would be the varied reasons both authors and audiences communicate. A setting is the time and place of the situation.
Using a powerpoint presentation is one example.
Definitely using online sources to spread information is the best way to reach the wisest number of people.
Blogs, online newspapers, magazines, emails, texts, anything online or via phone is successful to spread information in this day and age.
