ePremium Exempt Residents
If you have residents that are exempt from being required to purchase rental insurance, please fill out the ePremium exempt spreadsheet and send it to Tara Perry at tara.perry@epremium.com. Click HERE for the spreadsheet.
*Reasons why a resident or unit is exempt from being required to purchase renter's insurance: Section 8 lease, tax credit unit, affordable housing unit, corporate unit, or model.
**If you have a resident that has renewed their policy but the policy start date is a future date that coincides with the new lease date, that resident would need to be exempt until the lease starts.
Entering a Renewal in Yardi
If the property is entering a renewal in Yardi (same policy, just new dates), the property can simply “edit” the existing policy and change the end date to the new date. If they enter a new policy, the resident will continue to get notifications from ePremium that their policy is coming up for expiration. If the policy dates are “edited” and updated to the new dates, they won’t continue to receive the alerts.
If the new policy information is being updated in Yardi prior to the old policy expiring, the residents should not be force placed and charged. Also, if the resident cancels their insurance when they move out, however the leasing office does not physically move them out of the system until days later, the system force places coverage on the unit, because the resident is still listed as “current” in Yardi. If this should happen, contact Tara Perry at tara.perry@epremium.com and she can cancel the forced policy.
