Monday, December 9 - 3:00-6:00 PM - INDIVIDUAL AUDITIONS (NOTE DATE CHANGE!)
BY APPOINTMENT (I will share the signup form on M 12/9)
Individual Audition Preparation:
1. Perform a selection from Eurydice Script Cutting:
Choose and perform a "long" monologue from the script. You should plan to read the entire script well in advance of the audition, so you should be able to select an appropriate passage for your audition.
The selected monologue does not have to be performed from memory, though it is preferred and will demonstrate your commitment to the production; be sure to incorporate vocal variation, movement, full-body acting and general stage awareness.
A cold-read scene may be provided at the time of the audition.
2. Before the audition, read and think about the The Creative Act by Rick Rubin AUDITION SELECTIONS and be prepared to discuss them in your individual audition. I encourage you to read the entire text -- We will read other passages from this book during the rehearsal cycle:
"Everyone is a Creator"
"Self Doubt"
"Make It Up"
"Collaboration"
"Intention"
"Rules"
"Listening"
"Habits" (including "Thoughts and habits not conducive to the work")
"Seeds"
"Experimentation"
