A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I graduated with my Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Illinois State University in 2012 and have been working in the Morton School District since August 2012! I have had the pleasure of working in many of our buildings and have loved all of my experiences and opportunities across the district. I truly believe in EARLY INTERVENTION; therefore, my happiness comes from getting the opportunity to work with some of our youngest communicators in the district! Everyone deserves a voice to share their thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams and I can't wait to work with you and your student to achieve that goal!

I grew up in Green Valley and now reside in Morton with my husband, two daughters (Carly & Collins) and our energetic pup, Lola! We love all things DISNEY and going to relax at the beach! I love running, reading and just being with my family.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT SPEECH THERAPY IN ECE

Our speech therapy sessions in Early Childhood are play-based in nature. Students are provided with a visual schedule of the session activities as well as given reminders and prompts as needed to transition and participate throughout the session. We correlate along with the classroom My Big World curriculums for theme-based activities and toys to target our speech and language skills. I have the opportunity to provide services both in and out of the classroom setting and find value in helping students learn discrete skills as needed but also generalize those skills into the classroom as soon as possible.
