Valentine's Day Playlists

Ahh, Valentine’s Day… the day that comes every year on February 14th, and has been observed for over 1,000 years. This holiday is seen as a celebration of love and affection, whether it be with a significant other, friends, or family. With Valentine's Day comes all of the feelings surrounding the day, and the different kinds of people who either love the day, couldn’t care less, or have a deep-rooted hatred for the day. 

Whichever side you may fall on, I wanted to do my part in spreading the love this season by curating playlists for all of the common tropes you see on Valentine’s Day. I’ve made a selection of 5 songs for a wider audience while also giving my own personal recommendations because I find the way I bond with people is through music. If you love the day, find yourself not really caring either way, or hate everything about Valentine’s Day, there’s a specially-made playlist here for you.

Couples who love Valentine’s Day 

This is a playlist for you and your significant other to listen to while on the way to your nice movie date, or just to listen to while having a private dinner at home. Whatever you and your boo do, I hope you can leave enough love for this playlist. 

Couples who hate Valentine’s Day 

Valentine's Day isn’t for every couple, which is totally fair. There shouldn’t be just one day of the year when you show your significant other how much you love them, it should be every year. While over-the-top shows of affection may not be your thing, I hope you could still appreciate the playlist I’ve curated for you.

Those who are neutral 

Not feeling represented by either of the extremes on Valentine’s Day? No problem at all. You guys tend to be overlooked when it comes to the day of love, and that’s not fair. Hopeless Romantics 

You love love, but you haven’t found yourself in a relationship yet. I’ve been there, the aching feeling you get when you listen to love songs and the wanting of someone you can listen to those songs with. While I haven’t been there in a while, I still listen to a lot of those kinds of songs, so here are those songs for you.

Those who hate Valentine’s Day 

Single AND anti-Valentine’s Day? That's fair. Again, the holiday isn’t for everyone and we can’t expect it to be for people that the holiday wasn’t even made around. Either way, you deserve a playlist just like everyone else does, because even if you hate the idea of an overabundance of love, you deserve some appreciation either way.
