The journalism team has many different personalities within it. However, you could never forget Kaitlyn's. Always making her voice always heard and always trying to crack a mid dad joke, Kaitlyn Ford is here.
Kaitlyn is always willing to put her thoughts in opinions out even when she's not asked. It's a big part of why she joined Journalism.
"I have always loved writing, pretty much anything in the English department I am good at. I am a very argumentative person you could say. Journalism gives me an outlet to let me express my thoughts and feelings," said Kaitlyn.
Her whole life, Kaitlyn has been a big character and is not afraid of what anyone thinks. When I asked her "if your life was a movie, what would be a crucial scene?"
"Hmm, any part of my childhood. I am still pretty young, but I think your childhood shapes you into the person you are. Everything impacts you as a child. My childhood had a big impact on me, as it does to everyone else," she said.
As a child, Kaitlyn was still wild, but she found love at an early age in softball. She has played for ten years and no other sport could compete.
Kaitlyn loves adrenaline, that's part of the reason why she loves a good argument. She likes the team effort but also being in control. She plays as the catcher, and she wouldn't have it another way.
"Since I am the catcher, I'm very in control. I get to tell people what to do and they have to listen to me." But softball wasn't the only way of escaping for Kaitlyn. She has also always enjoyed reading, surprised?
She said, "I love books with lots of twists. I know it sounds kind of weird but I love messed-up books. I hate when the plot is predictable."
Books and writing have always been a big part of her life. Books like murder mysteries keep her intrigued, and she is a proud slow-burn hater.
Kaitlyn's reading and writing make her excited to be back in journalism.
"Being in journalism is just fun. We laugh a lot and we get to express ourselves in a way we don't get to in other classes. It kind of feels like a break in the day," Kaitlyn said.
She likes being able to see different types of people and points of view. She is a thinker. She wants to go into psychology in the future. She finds the way we think to be really interesting and is very excited to put all her thoughts out there!
