Manchester DECA, or the Distributive Education Club of America, advised by Ms. Leslie Rollins, will be heading to the State Competition in March.
This comes after the District 4 Virtual Competition held in December.
DECA has a Competitive Events Program, where students choose an event that aligns with their interests and strengths. Students are given a problem on a specific topic in which they roleplay, and also have to come up with a solution to the problem presented to them. Judges are selected members of the business community, and base student scores on their performance and an exam taken by the competitors.
Several students from Manchester were enrolled and participated in the District competition that took place virtually back in December. 10 of the 19 students who competed in December will compete again in March, at the Virtual State Competition.
The students that were Series Finalists will continue to the virtual state competition in March.
