Editor's Note: Some information was found from the Manchester Mirror's 2018 5-Year-Anniversary Article.
You may be wondering what the Maroon Monsoon is.......well, here's a little backstory:
Back in 2013, five community members came together to produce a locally printed newspaper. They built off of The Manchester Printing Company founded in 1867 - later to become The Manchester Enterprise. According to the Manchester Mirror, which replaced the Manchester Enterprise, stated in their five year anniversary article that “This group decided to test the waters with an online newspaper, which they titled The Manchester Mirror.”
The Maroon Monsoon aims to provide - as what School board trustee Mike Austin, and one of the five community members who started the Manchester Mirror said “A local reliable news and information resource that can be counted on and trusted.”
The Maroon Monsoon shares the same ideals as the Manchester Mirror - “reflecting the community of Manchester” - except with a little twist. Our goal is to provide the students of Manchester JR/SR High the opportunity to learn and explore what happens at their school. This online version of news will cover areas of Athletics, Board of Education, and other school events. Our editorial staff and reporter corps will accurately as we put it - provide a "wave" of information to parents, students, and staff.
Starting with this first edition, we will produce a new edition monthly.
