Rising 7th graders, relax with a good book and keep your reading skills sharp over the summer by joining the #7SummerReadingChallenge! Check out one of the six titles above from us by filling out this form before the end of the school year. You can also choose your own title. After you read the book, create an original one-pager to earn up to five SSL hours. You must turn in your book at the start of the next school year to avoid incurring a financial obligation.

Montgomery County Public Libraries is also offering incentives for students and families in their Unearth a Story: Summer Reading Challenge 2026 program. Students ages 0 to 18 can register for this challenge and receive a free book plus free raffle entry for tickets to a Washington Spirit soccer game. There are additional prizes for reaching reading goals over the summer, including a voucher for two to a Washington Nationals Baseball game, a sweet treat from Bruster’s, and more!
