Are all MCPS students required to complete SSL hours?
All Maryland and MCPS students will earn 75 SSL hours for graduation.
MCPS students may begin to work on this graduation requirement the summer after completing Grade 5. They can continue to earn hours throughout high school.
Students who enroll in MCPS AFTER 6th grade as a 7th grader will have their number of hours pro-rated to 65 required hours.
Students who enroll in MCPS AFTER 6th & 7th grade as an 8th grader will have their number of hours pro-rated to 55 required hours.
