Syllabus
Welcome to Wood Music!
The first priority of this program is to guide the students in becoming better individuals by providing them with experiences that teach life lessons. Throughout the year, members are intentionally afforded opportunities to grow as people as well as musicians. Whether in rehearsals, practicing, class meetings, performances, or other activities and interactions, it is a main goal of the program that the students have furthered the development of their character as well as their singing ability and musicianship.
This handbook describes the objectives, expectations, grading, and discipline policies. If there are other questions or concerns not answered by the syllabus, please do not hesitate to contact me. bree.h.cox@mcpsmd.net
Each student will be expected to exhibit achievement through effective effort in the national standards of music education. These standards emphasize conceptual understanding in areas that reflect the actual processes in which musicians engage. These standards cultivate a student’s ability to carry out the three artistic processes of creating, performing, and responding.

Choral technique: balance, blend, phrasing, intonation, etc.
