MCPS Information

Hello! My name is Mrs. Bree Cox and I want to welcome you to my music class!  I teach chorus, general music, and music technology for Earle B. Wood Middle School. This is my sixth year with MCPS and my twelfth year of teaching in a public school setting. I have numerous years of teaching private lessons (voice and piano) as well as a long resumé of performances in musicals, concerts, and recitals as a professional singer/actress. I also continue to sing professionally and accompany on piano outside of the school day.

Education

I grew up in Dayton, OH and I loved all things music growing up.  From chorus to marching band to musicals, my school provided me many opportunities to perform and express my creativity. It's always my goal to provide my students with the same kinds of opportunities that I experienced when I was a student.  I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton (OH) in Music Education and Vocal Performance and a master's degree in Opera Performance from the University of Minnesota. (And yes, it is super cold there in the winter!)

Personal

I am married and have a beautiful little girl, Charlotte (Charlie, for short) and four cats.  When I'm not teaching, I absolutely love playing video games. I also really like to knit, crochet, sew, watch movies and tv, and play soccer with my daughter.
