Throughout September 15–October 15, the BRES Media Center is honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with engaging activities and vibrant displays that highlight the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latine communities.
What’s Happening in the Media Center:
📚 Featured Book Displays: A colorful collection of picture books, chapter books, biographies, and graphic novels featuring Hispanic authors, illustrators, and trailblazing figures.
🌎 Interactive Map & Bulletin Board: Students can explore a large map showing Spanish-speaking countries and add sticky notes about connections they discover—languages, foods, music, or traditions.
Why We Celebrate:
These activities align with MCPS equity and inclusion goals and AASL standards, encouraging students to broaden their global awareness, appreciate diverse voices, and develop information-literacy skills while exploring cultures that shape our world.
