Good behavior is expected and important to ensure a productive learning environment. I will use “Class Dojo” as a behavior management tool. The students will have the opportunity to earn points throughout the day, which they will be able to use to buy reward coupons. Students may also lose points throughout the day for misconduct, which could result in a phone call/note home or loss of privileges. Parents may even sign up with “Class Dojo” online to view your child’s behavior each day and communicate with me. Students will get to choose “coupons” based on how many Dojo points they have received each week. The coupons allow them to do different things around the class, such as write with a pen or switch seats with another classmate.

To Be Determined

A newsletter will be sent home every week to keep you up-to-date. This will include important reminders, dates, and will give you a brief description on what your child will be learning. These newsletters also include names of "STAR students" - students who have shown great star behavior in the classroom and around the school all week. I will upload newsletters here on this website, and your child will bring a paper copy home each week in their Friday folder.

Students will be expected to complete 20 minutes of reading each night. Homework assignments can be found in their agendas and can vary from week to week. Homework is ungraded, but students who complete homework weekly, will be entered into the "Homework Club". I will send home more information about this once the school year has started and we have dived into material.
