Welcome to 6th grade!

This is my 5th year at Kromrey! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marquette University in 2018, with degrees in Elementary Education and Political Science. I teach math here in Block 6B. My favorite math skill to watch students master is multiplying and dividing fractions!

I live in the heart of downtown Madison, so I'm a big Badger sports fan. In my freetime, I love to do any water sports (I've even learned to scuba dive!) , go for long bike rides, and read lots of mystery novels. Some of my favorites include: the color blue, lemonade, Venezuelan food, and dogs!

I love 6th grade! This will be my ninth year of teaching sixth grade and my fourth year at Kromrey! This year I will be teaching literacy (reading and writing, science, and social studies). I recently received my master's degree in Professional Development and Learning Communities from UW-La Crosse and am licensed to teach grades 1-8. 6th grade will forever be my favorite!

My husband and I stayed busy this summer visiting family in South Carolina and preparing the nursery for the upcoming addition to our family arriving in November 2021. We also love hanging out with our goldendoodle named Mellie and our orange cat named Colby! Aside from spending time with our pets, my husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants, playing board games, exploring parks in Madison, and going to concerts!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Winter and I am so excited to be part of 6B this year! I believe a strong relationship with all students and families is critical and look forward to getting to know you!

This is my 3rd year at Kromrey, and my 6th year in the district. I have three children at home- up and coming 6, 8, and 10. All three of my children have passed through the walls of Kromrey. In our free time we love to hike, cook & bake, and play games. I love everything about fall, including playing fantasy football.

I absolutely love teaching middle school. It's some of the most difficult years in adolescents, but also some of the best. 6th graders are empathetic, curious, amazing problem solvers, fiercely loyal, and are starting to figure out their path to independence. These traits often come sprinkled with wit and sarcasm. My goal is to provide a safe space for all students and give them the academic, emotional, and social supports they need to become successful.

This is my 3rd year at Kromrey! I have taught fully virtual 6th grade and 7th grade social studies and literacy. I studied elementary education at UW-Eau Claire and am currently receiving my masters to be a Reading Specialist from Viterbo University. I LOVE helping students grow as readers and writers!

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with friends, baking, reading, hiking, and paddle boarding. I am on a quest to visit every state park in Wisconsin and have travelled to 20 so far! My favorites were Peninsula and Copper Falls. I am eager to visit more this fall to see all the beautiful colors.
