Welcome to the McLaren Bay Region Medical Center, Family Medicine Residency Program! Applying for residency is an exciting experience and can be overwhelming.
Our program strives to maintain continuity of care of a diverse population between the inpatient setting and outpatient clinics. We are exposed to a variety of rotations in different specialties to broaden our scope of practice, which also allows us to gain first-hand experience of the type of care our patients receive after a referral is made.
These rotations include the ACGME mandatory rotations, but also allows you to tailor your residency experience toward your future clinical practice goals. Our residents are exposed to all aspects of Family Medicine, with the goal being to provide them with the knowledge and skills to practice and deliver excellent health care. This residency also recognizes that personal maturity and self-awareness are extremely important. Upon graduation, our residents become physicians competent in comprehensive care of the full spectrum of ages and conditions that family physicians should excel at caring for, and have developed the skills required to be professionally and personally successful.
The mission of the Family Medicine Residency at McLaren Bay Region Medical Center is to create and nurture learning environments where physicians are inspired to develop expertise in Family Medicine and to dedicate themselves to the care of individuals, families and communities, especially those who are under-served.
The Family Medicine Residency Program at McLaren Bay Region Medical Center facilitates training competent and astute clinicians in order to provide them with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experience needed to provide their patients with the highest standard of care, both in an office-based and hospital-based practice in the community. Core faculty at the Family Medicine Residency Program at McLaren Bay believe in personal, comprehensive and continuing health care of all patients and teach the same value to our learners.
