Class Overview
This course provides instruction in English language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The content of this course includes: instruction in reading and vocabulary necessary for comprehension; composition instruction that focuses on writing effective paragraphs and multi-paragraph papers, with emphasis upon all stages of the writing process (prewriting, drafting, revision, editing, and publishing); research and speech instruction for formal and informal presentations; analysis of a variety of literary genres; and instruction in elements of grammar, usage, and mechanics.
About me
Welcome to 6th grade ELA I'm excited to start my 22nd year in education and my second year at MCMS. I earned my bachelor degree in English Literature with a Secondary Teaching Certificate from Florida State University. I'm looking forward to working with you this year and sharing my love of reading and writing with you.
