“Don’t forget your water bottle!” seems to be said by every Mom, every morning. How could people forget it when most of the school is carrying around a water bottle and it’s trending all over social media? The Hydro Flask started trending around 2018 when the VSCO girl aesthetic came to light and when Covid 19 hit the world. The Stanley Cup started trending in 2023 because of its influence all over the internet, especially on TikTok and Instagram.
If someone wanted a good durable water bottle they would probably order a Hydro Flask or Stanley. But which one is more affordable? Which one will keep my drinks cold? Which one is easier to carry around and which one is more unlikely to spill?
“I love my Stanley! It keeps my drinks cold, I love how the handle is on the side rather than on the top and I just feel bougie with it,” said Rylie Barger. Basically, the Stanley does its job when it comes to keeping your drinks at an appropriate temperature and it is very easy to carry around. Barger says the Stanley only spills when it's dropped or knocked over, but there are accessories you can buy to prevent that.
The price of the Stanley is usually the same as a Hydro Flask. Barger, Peyton Cock and Cassidy Rogers said their Stanley was around 45 dollars, which isn’t a bad price for a water bottle that is going to get the job done.
What if the Stanley isn't the water bottle for you? Then maybe you should go back to the old trend of VSCO and get a Hydro Flask. The Hydro Flask is usually priced around 45 to 80 dollars and it comes in many sizes, a variety of colors, and different styles of Hydro Flask. Addison Keonig learned that choosing the right-sized Hydro Flask influences customer satisfaction.
“Well, I guess it kinda depends on what size it is but it’s not very convenient. It also doesn’t fit in cup holders so that has been the worst by far,” said Koenig. But, Koenig says a positive is her Hydro Flask doesn't leak and it stays really cold for a long period of time. Koenig warns that it's hard to drink out of it if you don't have a straw. Schliep and Koenig agree that the Hydroflask does its main tasks very well and they couldn’t imagine having to carry around any other water bottle except the good old Hydro Flask.
Both of these water bottles are trending on every social media platform. People actually started collecting these water bottles because of the variety the 2 brands of water bottles offer. Cock and Barger both believe that the Sophomore class uses the Stanley Cup more than other classes. While, Schliep thinks Hydro Flask is more popular among Seniors.
The war between Stanley and Hydro Flask may never end. We might be able to tell our grandchildren stories about how crazy people were about these popular water bottles. At the end of the day, whichever water bottle you choose to own, a Stanley, Hydro Flask, or any water bottle for that matter, remember to stay hydrated! Even if you don’t have a Stanley or Hydro flask!
