Children who read for pleasure:
- have more success in life
- score higher on standardized tests
- show greater empathy for others
It is important that children continue to read over the summer break. You might be interested in these Summer Reading Lists that the library has prepared for students entering each grade.
You can find the Summer Reading Lists in the menu above.
Because our goal is for students to love reading, there is no competition or record keeping involved.
Every K-8 student who reads some of the books on our lists or any other lists you find online or at another library will receive a free book at our Summer Reading Celebration when school starts back up in the fall.
Please feel free to talk to Mr. Pagel in the library if you have any questions.
