Physical Education & Health
Welcome to the Physical Education & Health Department website for Memorial School.
Within Physical Education students will be introduced to a variety of recreational, competitive, and collaborative activities. The focus of the Physical Education program is to help all students develop motor skill competency, discover what types of movements and activities they enjoy, and lastly to work well with others in varying roles of leadership.
Our Health Curriculum will be based around healthy living (diet + exercise), emotional regulation (relaxation/mbsr), and decision making skills.
With each of these topics at hand your child will be given an opportunity to find what aspects of physical activity fit their interests and what components of health they can incorporate into their lives in order to live a long and healthy life.
Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Christian Velazquez. I am currently the Physical Education and Health teacher here at Memorial School.
While I may be new to the building I am in my 2nd year of teaching and I am a product of this community's school system. This unique experience provides me with the opportunity to connect students and families with the proper resources needed to live a healthy and active life within our school and town as a whole.
If there is any way that I can help enhance your child's experience within my class please do not hesitate to reach out and contact me.
I look forward to meeting you all and working with your children!
