Students have been planning a trip to London. Using target grammar and vocabulary, students were tasked with proposing their plans for their 2-day stay in London to their parents. The next step in this project is writing about their trip to London using target grammar and vocabulary.
Dear parents:
We would like to propose a wonderful weekend in London. We really appreciate that you gave us the opportunity to organize two days of the trip. For this, we looked for some restaurants, and touristic places that we couldn't miss. We also researched the transportation, the cost and all the time we are going to spend at each place. We hope that you consider our offer and that you like it.
The price that we’re going to spend on every place is just an approximation. And, if we didn’t mention the price, it is because it is free! Another point to touch is that we tried to search for the cheapest prices. Some of the places that we are going to visit are Trafalgar Square, that is famous for being the home of the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Abbey Road that as you know is where the Beatles walked. We are also going to Lancaster Street, Notting Hill to take a lot of photos. We’ll be traveling around the city using the famous local double-decker bus, some bicycles, the metro and we’ll also be walking to some places so we can experience an everyday routine. Our next stop is a very important place if you love the band named “The Beatles”, you guessed it! It is the Abbey Road! If you don’t know what or why is so special here is the answer: it is where the most iconic photo of the Beatles was taken. It would be so fun to take some awesome pictures if you love the band. Our next stop is also very famous, it is the London Eye, the most famous wheel of fortune in London. Although it is very expensive to get a ride on it, it is worth it worthy because you can see the beautiful city of London. We will also go to a place which is probably one you think of when they say London!. Yes It’s the Big Ben! We decided to go there at night because it is all lit up!
On Sunday, we decided to go to historical places, so on Saturday we could be a little more adventurous, and to go to fun places like the M&M store, Piccadilly Circus, and many more places.
On Sunday, we plan to go to some places like the St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is the second tallest in the world and the London Dungeon, that is a haunted high tech house and it is very famous. Likewise, we couldn’t miss the Piccadilly circus. It is estimated that about 100 million people pass through this intersection every year, making it one of the busiest points in the entire United Kingdom; and Buckingham Palace, where we are going to explore. To continue we are going to the Soho neighbourhood, is an amazing place full of restaurants, cinemas, theatres, and culture. To end our tour, we are going to visit the Royal Opera House to experience impressive music and dance presentations, backstage tours, delicious food and drinks. About the transport, we choose buses, the train, or the underground, but we consider that walking was the best idea because in this way you can appreciate the place more.
We would like you to consider our incredible planning for our weekend in London. Also, we chose these places because we know some of you would like them. We gave all our efforts in this plan because you're worth it and because we wanted to show you we’re capable of planning a whole schedule.
