Davi Obata

Assistant Professor at Brigham Young University

I am an assistant professor at Brigham Young University. I study dynamical systems and ergodic theory. I am particularly interested in smooth ergodic theory, rigidity problems, statistical properties of dynamical systems and hyperbolic dynamics. Before coming to BYU, I was a Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago. I completed my Ph.D. in 2019 at the Université Paris-Saclay, under the supervision of Sylvain Crovisier, and at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), under the supervision of Alexander Arbieto.  My research is supported by the NSF under the grant number DMS-2349380.
