Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry in TUcSon

The University of Arizona, May 4-5, 2024

CAAGTUS aims to improve contacts and foster collaborations among researchers in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry located in Arizona and its neighboring states. Its main purposes are to stimulate new directions of research, to provide opportunities to junior researchers to share their work, and to provide a venue for networking and collaboration in the southwest.

Deadline for funding requests/abstracts is March 29.

Accommodation: Participants should make their own arrangements directly with the hotel of their choice. We have reserved a block of rooms at Aloft Tucson University (1900 E. Speedway Blvd). In order to be included in the block with the discounted rate, you must make your reservation by April 3, 2024 and use this link for online reservation.

Travel: The University of Arizona campus is located east of the downtown core of the city. The venue of CAAGTUS is Environment & Natural Resources 2 Building within the main campus of the University of Arizona.

By air: Tucson has one major airport, which is Tucson International Airport (TUS). The airport is about 8-10 miles from the University of Arizona. Car rental services are available at Tucson International Airport. Shuttle service is also available to and from TUS. The closest hub airport to Tucson is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) which is about 110 miles from the University. Shuttle services are available to Tucson through several providers such as Flixbus, Groome Transpotation and Amtrak.

Getting to campus: There are various options depending on your starting point. For maps, schedules and fares, follow the link to the Tucson Public Transportation. There is also Streetcar in Tucson.
