At Mater Christi, music is alive with joy and creativity! From Preschool through Grade 8, children engage in music through singing, instruments, movement, and performance—building skills step by step while always keeping the magic and joy of music at the center.
In the elementary years, children sing, move, play and learn through joyful songs and games that build steady beat, pitch, rhythm, and musical expression. As they move into the intermediate grades, students strengthen their music-reading skills, expand their ensemble work, and further explore their creativity. In middle school, music comes to life as students dive deeper into the elements of music while learning about music from various genres and cultures. Band and chorus offer additional opportunities for students to grow, perform, and connect through music.
