ABOUT ME
I began my career at MaST Community Charter School eight years ago. I worked as a Classroom Assistant in an inclusion classroom, dedicating most of my time to supporting the needs of the special education population and other diverse learners. This experience inspired me to further my education at Arcadia University, where I earned a Masters of Special Education.
Since my employment at MaST, I have worked in every elementary grade from K-6; however, I have spent the majority of my time in 4th and 5th grades. I enjoy working in the upper elementary grades, 4th, 5th, and 6th, as they are incredibly rewarding. These years are crucial in students' academic, social, and emotional development. At these ages, they are gaining greater independence and critical thinking skills, and they exhibit a wonderful mix of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Additionally, the content in these grades allows for engaging, hands-on learning experiences that can spark a love for learning.
I have had the opportunity to attend College Settlement Camp with 5th for many years, tutor students after school, work in our Aftercare program, and teach ESY every summer I’ve worked at MaST. Building trust with the students, forming these special relationships and bonds, and being a part of this transformative period in their lives is both a privilege and a joy. I enjoy the opportunity to help them navigate this transition, fostering both their academic growth and social development.
