All About Who I Am

This will be my fourth year teaching—and my second career after spending 25 years with Fazoli’s Restaurants. For 15 of those years, I proudly served as the general manager of the Paducah location. While it might seem like a big change, both careers have taught me a lot about working with people, problem-solving, and thinking on my feet!

Students often ask me, “Are you related to Mrs. Morehead?” I always give them the same answer: “No… but I am married to her! Being related would make things complicated.” My wife and I have a son named Declyn, who’s heading into 1st grade this year—we’re all very excited for his next big step!

I’m a proud graduate of Murray State University with a degree in middle school education, focused on science and social studies. I’ve always loved learning and sharing big ideas, especially when it comes to the wonders of science and the stories of history.

If you visit my classroom, you’ll quickly notice my love for Star Wars. From the entrance to the decor, it’s clear I believe learning should be as exciting as a galaxy far, far away. I’m also a huge baseball fan and love all things sports.

I’m the creator of Mr. M’s Fortress of Knowledge—a fun, engaging way I bring learning to life in my classroom and beyond.

Most importantly, I’m incredibly grateful to teach in the very community where I grew up. I’m excited for another great year and can’t wait to help students learn, grow, and explore the world around them.
