We need to watch what we do and what our actions would do as an impact to the environment. With every company, person, and store using plastic, we definitely need to think about what we do to our environment. We are taking our environment for granted and using all the plastic we want to use. We need to stop now!

A human averages 1.6 straws a day and if there are about 7 billion people living, that is a bad amount of straws.
In the US, about 500 million straws are being used every day.
About 8.3 billion straws pollute the world's beaches. That's more than the living population of the world!

Paper straws take 2-6 weeks to be completely gone and it takes plastic straws 1000 years to decompose.
In 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in our ocean if we don't do something to save marine life, and right now 1/4 of the fish have plastic in their bodies. It is harder for us because when we eat the fish the people have to take the plastic out of their body. If we do something soon then we don't have to do the hard work and the fish don't have to suffer the pain so it is a win-win. But if we don't do something soon then it is a lose-lose. It is your choice, a win-win or a lose-lose. Many sea animals that are not fish are dying because of the plastic in their bodies. Is their life any less value than your life? Think about it.
Our environment is filling up fast with plastic. If we don't do something now our future generations will have to fix our problems.
Since the time that plastic was made we have used it thinking that it was a good resource to use, it is but it harms many sea animals.
Plastic straws where made in 1888 so that the ancient Sumerians made them so that they did not get bugs in their bodies. It was not made from plastic. It was made from rice and etc.
