  • Complete "Teen Freedom Fighters" activities. Access a copy of it here to print it. Due Thursday at the beginning of class.

  • This day is dedicated to Reading and Encore subjects.

Thursday, April 8- Classwork:

  • We launched our performance task. Students selected a societal issue (hunger, homelessness, or refugees/war) to read and write about.

    • If you were absent, select one of the topics above to read about - click on the link to access the article. You must complete all three tasks on this stamp sheet before you can begin your mind map.

Friday, April 9 - Remote Work:

  • Complete all three tasks on your stamp sheet from yesterday.

  • Complete Mind Map for your selected topic. Helpful hints are on Google Classroom. If you do not have a copy of the Mind Map, you may use a blank piece of paper.

  • Watch the Ed Puzzle video about Bloody Sunday and the poem on page 52. The video will guide you through the poem. You are expected to have transactions in your booklet. The prompts in the video are meant to help you better understand the poem :)

Tuesday, March 16- Remote Work:

  • Watch the Ed Puzzle video about how to transfer Mind Map ideas to your TDA Graphic Organizer. Complete all prompts within the Ed Puzzle video. The Intro Paragraph and Paragraph 2 are due at the beginning of class when you return.

  • If you missed class on Monday, your remote work is to review the RICE notes on page 24 + 25 AND complete the following boxes on the TDA organizer: Intro + Paragraph 2. Paragraph 2 should use text evidence from "The House on Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros.

  • Submitted "Error Analysis" assignment (p. 33 and 34). If you were absent, it is your responsibility to turn it in to your class tray upon your return.

  • "The House on Mango Street" - we completed the Do Now on page 38, read the story on page 40, and then completed the row at the top of page 39. When reading the story, transact for 3 examples of poverty.

Tuesday, March 9- Remote Work:

  • Watch Ed Puzzle Video for "Nikki-Rosa" and complete the accompanying pages described in the video.

  • Complete page 43 in preparation for our Chalk Talk on Thursday.

    • We reviewed the PSSA rubric and identified differences between each score point.

    • Make up work: Review pages 30-37. Complete the TDA error analysis for each "student" by reviewing their essay examples and the PSSA rubric.

    • Email Ms. Bennett with questions. This assignment is due on Monday.

Friday, March 5 - Remote Work:

  • Complete the Julius vs. Ellie Mae Error Analysis on pages 33 + 34. Due Monday. Be sure to highlight language from the rubric in your response! Use pages 30-37 to complete.
