SUMMER READING IS ESSENTIAL TO MAINTAIN LEARNING GAINS AND HELP US GET RIGHT BACK TO LEARNING WHEN WE SEE YOU NEXT!!!!
IT IS ALSO MEANT TO BE ENJOYABLE AND ENGAGING!!!!!
Hope your summer reading sparkles and sparks conversations
with your besties, who may be reading the same book as you and wondering when you will get to the end of that chapter so you can talk about that thing that just happened, that OMG moment you HAVE to talk about....seriously! Stick with your friends for book suggestions, motivation, encouragement, and more----find a buddy and stick together on this one!!!!
Have a wonderful summer, and remember, you may only be required to read two books this summer, but you can always read more!!!!!
Set up a reading schedule for yourself so you don't leave it until last minute or forget about it. Even if you only read for ten or twenty minutes every day, or every other day, or on the weekends, you are more likely to be able to finish your books by the end of the summer. If you are worried you will forget what you read, take some notes to help you remember what happened, or flip through them again at the end of the summer to remind yourself what the books was about. And don't forget, anywhere you go this summer, near or far, for a day, or a weekend, or longer, you can always bring a book with you!!!!
To get copies of your summer reading books, check out your public libraries, bookstores, Audible, or even checkout an eBook or audiobook version (through SORA on the school library webpage-or the app, or through Libby, the public library app.) of your summer reading choices so you have a copy with you wherever you go. Listening to a book is a great way to experience a book sometimes, and if you read along while listening it's even easier to understand what you are reading, so you can always give that a try too!!!!
There are lots of series books on some of the lists, so you can start with one, pick up the next in the series, and keep going if you like them.
Be sure to check your grade specific page for exact assignment info.!!!!!!
