2025-26
All students have been automatically added to a Google Classroom for each of their GCSE subjects. These classrooms are where teachers share lots of useful resources and materials to help students work independently and stay on top of their learning.
As a parent or carer, please check your emails — you should have received an invitation that lets you get weekly updates about what work and resources are being posted for each subject.
If there’s a specific subject you’d like to receive updates for, just email your child’s teacher, and they’ll be able to share the ‘Invite Guardians’ link with you.
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of Module 1, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and to update you on what has been a busy and important start to Year 11. The focus this term has been firmly on preparing students for the challenges and opportunities ahead as they move towards their GCSE examinations.
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our Year 11 Information Evening earlier this term. It was a fantastic opportunity to share key information about exam preparation, revision strategies, and the support available for students throughout the year.
If you were unable to attend or have not yet accessed the slides we shared after the event, you can view them here:https://shorturl.at/hiFq4
This term also marked your child’s final school photo as a Key Stage 4 student — a memorable milestone! If you would like to purchase a copy of this final photo, please follow the details sent out via our school communications.
Over the past few weeks, students have taken part in assemblies focusing on the importance of attendance and punctuality. Regular attendance and being on time to lessons are crucial in securing the best possible GCSE outcomes. Every lesson counts — missing just one day every two weeks can result in missing over a year’s worth of learning across a school career.
This week, all Year 11 students received a paper copy of The Next Step magazine. This publication is designed to help students and parents understand the wide range of post-16 options available after GCSEs — including sixth form, college courses, apprenticeships, and vocational pathways. It offers valuable advice on how to make informed decisions, prepare applications, and plan for future careers.
We strongly encourage both students and parents to read through the magazine together and begin conversations about next steps and aspirations for life beyond Year 11.

If your child has been invited, please complete the sign-up form below by Friday 17th October at 8:00am to allow staff to plan appropriately.
October Half Term Sign up Form Please note:
Students may wear their own clothes on intervention days.
No food or drink will be provided — students should bring their own refreshments.
Students must make their own travel arrangements to and from school.
For safeguarding reasons, students are not permitted to wander around the school site during these sessions.
Further details will be sent directly to parents and carers of students who have signed up.
Our morning advisory intervention sessions have been well attended, and it’s been great to see students engaging with these opportunities. These short, focused sessions help students build confidence, address specific areas for improvement, and start their days with a positive, proactive mindset.
After the half-term break, Year 11 students will sit their first round of mock exams. These assessments are a vital part of the preparation process — they help students familiarise themselves with exam conditions, identify areas that need further improvement, and give teachers valuable information to tailor support in the months ahead. The mock exam timetable has already been shared with students via their Bromcom Student Portal and a copy has also been sent to parents./carers via My Child At School (MCAS). A copy of the timetable can be found on the MAS11 website or by clicking this link. Performing well in these exams not only builds confidence but also helps shape final predicted grades, which are often shared with post-16 providers.
We are incredibly proud of how Year 11 have started the year — their maturity, focus, and determination are already shining through. With continued support at home and at school, we are confident that every student can achieve their very best.
Thank you once again for your ongoing partnership.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Stamato
Assistant Principal & Deputy Head of Luther King College
