Whilst we would all like to be working with professional cameras, lighting and sound equipment, this isn't always possible.
The most basic set-up, to get good results, would be:
A smartphone
A tripod
A lavalier microphone
Editing software
...but we can work with less!

So, grab your phone, your home made tripod, and lets start with what we have.

This course will look at shooting and editing the moving image to create meaning - but it is NOT a how to video editing course (but, of course, help will be provided when required). We will only be looking at the basics of editing, so any of the following editing software would be appropriate:
Adobe Rush (available on most modern smart-phones and computers - except Chromebooks- a free download from Adobe Creative Cloud - sign in with your DoE account)
Adobe Premiere Pro (available for all computers - except Chromebooks - a free download from Adobe Creative Cloud - sign in with your DoE account)
iMove (available to all iPhone and Mac users)
Final Cut Pro X (a pro-editor for Mac - more features than you will ever need, NOT FREE!)
WeVideo (free accounts for online editing - can work on any device, including Chromebooks, with enough features to do these projects - free accounts can not add titles - but these are not essential)
DaVinci Resolve (Free for Mac and PC - feature packed professional editing software)
There are plenty of other options, but these are the main choices. Whichever software you decide to use, there is a quick beginner's guide below to get you acquainted.
