Reading Without Limits
MCPS Annual Reading Celebration is March 1-5. See below for detailed reading activities at MCHS.
Students who participate in ANY activity or event during the Reading Celebration will be eligible to win a Kindle Fire and wireless headphones. The winner will be announced Monday, Feb. 1.

Students can participate in these activities all week (and be eligible for prizes)!
The Reading Without Limits poster contest. Deadline to submit is March 5 at 3:30 pm. 1st and 2nd place winners will receive pizza! Please see rubric for details.
Check out an ebook and win pizza! Directions for checking out ebooks are in the grade specific google classrooms.

Monday, March 1
Students are invited to participate in our annual, highly competitive literary quote contest! Students who correctly identify all 6 quotes will be entered in a drawing for 2 large pizzas delivered to your house! The quotes will be located here.
Tuesday, March 2
Our very own author, Mr. Troy Costisick, will meet virtually with students about his books, his creative process, and his experiences as both a teacher and author. Mr. Costisick's author event will be at 7:00pm.
Any student who joins Mr. Costisick's author event will receive a copy of one of his books.

Wednesday, March 3
Kentucky native, Alecia Whitaker, will discuss her life in New York City, the inspiration for her characters, and what she misses most about her home state. Ms. Whitaker is the author of The Queen of Kentucky and the Wildflower series. Ms. Whitaker's virtual presentation will be at 1:00pm.
All students who join Ms. Whitaker's presentation will receive a copy of The Queen of Kentucky.

Thursday, March 4
Use your creativity to visually express the theme Reading Without Limits to others at school and the community.
You may use any medium (digital included) as long as the poster fits the size requirements.
Winners will receive pizza delivered to your house! See rubric for details.
Friday, March 5
Stop, Drop, and Read! Post a selfie of yourself reading a book or magazine (ebooks included!) and you will be eligible to have 2 pizzas delivered to your house!
