Approved Snack List

(Lista de Bocadillos Aprobada)

From Our Health Coordinator:

Our preschoolers have a snack time daily at the end of their day. I have had parents and teachers ask about parents donating snacks, and what is allowed. If you would like to contribute to our daily snack choices, we would gladly appreciate your support.

Below is a list of snacks for preschoolers that the state of Indiana has approved. Snacks must be prepackaged and unopened when they are brought into the classroom. If there is an item you would like to bring that is not on the list, please contact the Health Coordinator before bringing to class to make sure we are able to offer it to the children.

• All fresh fruits and vegetables (ranch dip or peanut butter can be used for dipping veggies)

• Chips and salsa

• Animal crackers (no icing)

• Goldfish crackers (original, cheese, colors, or pretzel)

• Cheese and crackers (packages of block cheese or packaged pre-cut cubes or squares)

• String Cheese

• Granola Bars

• Breakfast Bars

• Pretzels

• Mini Muffins

• Graham Crackers (plain, honey, or cinnamon)

• Chex Mix (Original)

The state requires us to have milk and Vitamin C offered daily to the children. Please do not bring in Capri Sun or juice boxes for the class. Many of them are not authorized by the state to be used. In many cases 1⁄2 of a piece of fruit is an acceptable serving for fruit. For example, 1⁄2 a banana per child may be given as a snack.
