Speech and Language

The Speech-Language Pathology Program at the School District of Marinette strives to prepare students to be successful academically, to enter the workforce with the knowledge and skills to communicate with peers, and meet the needs of the community and society. This is accomplished through quality services in the areas of articulation, receptive and expressive language, voice, fluency, social communication, and communication modalities.

The Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) at the district are licensed in the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and have a 1820 State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Speech-Language Pathologist License 3-21 years old.

SLP’s integrate Evidence Based Practice therapy techniques and technologies to support learning in and out of the classroom using iPads with various communication applications (proloquo2go, go talk now, etc.), various switches, simple voice output devices, mid technology communication devices (Go Talk 20, etc), Boardmaker, PECS books, and visual schedules to reinforce social skills, functional communication, and overall speech and language development.

Occupation and Physical Therapy

Occupational and Physical Therapy is provided for students who need additional support to function successfully in the academic setting. The goal of OT and PT is to help students become stronger so they can access and participate in school based activities.
