Our Marian Catholic Legacy Program kicked off on March 18 with Vincent Vella, a 2008 Marian graduate, and Pulitzer Prize recipient . There was a General Assembly where Mr. Vella spoke to the entire student body and then visited with the English and Journalism classes throughout the day. FUNDRAISING UPDATE- The final fundraiser will be Victoria's candy for Easter. This sale will run from March 13th thru April 1st with delivery on April 15th. ABSOLUTELY NO ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER APRIL 1ST. This will be your last chance to pay down your fundraising balance.
On Friday 2/8 the Students and Faculty were given a presentation on Safe2Say Something. Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. SPORTS PHYSICALS - All athletes need a physical before any type of practice. The form can be found on the PIAA website www.PIAA.org and click on resources at the top of the page. Click on forms then click on PIAACIPPE form 1-9.
GOVERNMENT LUNCH APPLICATIONS for the free and reduced lunch were given to students the first day of school. These forms can be completed and return to the Main Office any time during the school year.
ASBESTOS COMPLIANCE - as part of the Federal Asbestos Compliance Act, Marian High School was inspected in the Spring of 2011. A management plan is on file in the Main Office which satisfies the requirements of the EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act.
